Skipping trains the pick to travel without clipping the mute. Spread chords need this.

    Down on 6 (open), down on 4 (fret 4 or 3), up on 4, down on 6.

  2. 02

    Mute the fifth string with the index underside. It never rings.

  3. 03

    Add the high string open as a 9th once the skip is clean.

  4. 04

    Climb the fourth-string note: 2, 3, 4, 6 (sus2, m, maj, b5).
